celebrity guest speaker fred mcgriff

Fred McGriff, a 2023 Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, will headline the event as the celebrity guest speaker for the 38th annual Steak and Burger Dinner. Over a prolific 19-season career, the legendary first baseman became the first player since the dead-ball era to lead both the American and National Leagues in home runs. Known as the "Crime Dog," he amassed 493 career home runs and 1,550 RBI, finishing just shy of the 500-home run club while becoming the first player to hit 30 homers for five different franchises. McGriff was a vital postseason force, helping the Atlanta Braves secure the 1995 World Series title and earning the 1994 All-Star Game MVP honors. Beyond his offensive prowess, he was a defensive mainstay who ranks third all-time in games played and double plays turned at first base. Currently a special assistant in the Braves' front office, McGriff remains one of the most consistently productive and respected power hitters in the history of the sport.
